Author of an exceptional 2016 season, punctuated by a record number of victories, 300, Pierre-Charles Boudot won his second Cravache d’Or at the Gallop. Loving all the races, he gives us his point of view on the Prix d’Amérique Opodo.

Co-owner with a good group of friends of a trotter, Beethov, recent winner in Vincennes Hippodrome of Paris, Pierre-Charles Boudot is interested in Trotting … with an eye. But one eye open! It was from Cagnes, where he made his winter meeting of his own, alongside a number of professionals from the Trot, that he answered our questions.

What do you think about the Prix d’Amérique Opodo?
“It’s always a very emotional moment with a pack provided, champions on all floors. I have a lot of admiration for a horse like Timoko and his 13 Group I victories but I have a taste for Bold Eagle who will be my favorite. If he has a good race course and is brought back on a plateau, which has happened to him this winter, he will be able to place his sharp point of speed and it will then be difficult beatable. ”

In terms of driving, what does the Trot discipline inspire you?
“The one who bluffs me most is Jean-Michel Bazire, his racing tactics are incredible, for me he’s a genius.”

A souvenir of the Prix d’Amérique?
“Not exactly, but what I have in mind is a horse: Jag de Bellouet. Beyond its success in America, it is the fact of chaining to a week of interval. Cornulier-Prix d’Amérique, which I found formidable, is the kind of sporting challenge for which I have a deep respect. ”

Sunday where will you be?
“I will watch the race of Cagnes-sur-Mer, on TV, with friends trotting.”
