Jean-Michel Bazire is at the head of the most beautiful list of achievements among French drivers. And he seems determined to reach the highest peaks as a coach too. Especially thanks to the Grand Prix d’Amérique.

He had made it a goal before moving on to another part of his life as a trotting professional. Jean-Michel Bazire won in 2018 a twentieth Golden Sulky, that is to say a twentieth title of best French driver with the number of victories in a season. A record score that some never imagine beaten, not even matched. Once this round count was reached, he moved the cursor to other targets: becoming the number 1 French coach. First step, the 2017-2018 Paris-Vincennes winter meeting. Validated. Second step, confirm at the next meeting. This is better than validated since the “JMB” label sets a new record for the number of victories with 72 winners. During this 2019-2020 meeting, and before the meeting on Friday January 17 (a month and a half before the end of the meeting), the Jean-Michel Bazire Stable won 58 races. In 2019, he also became the number 1 coach nationally. The goals are on track to be achieved.

His three champions for the 2020 Grand Prix d’Amérique
A year after placing his three protégés in the running for first, second and fourth places in the Grand Prix d’Amérique, the only Readly Express having managed to interfere in the middle of this trio, it is a safe bet that Jean-Michel Bazire would see the whole podium truster this year. Unreasonable ambition? Perhaps, but that makes it all the more attractive for a devourer of exploits like Jean-Michel Bazire. Especially since his horses have clearly demonstrated that they can afford to run for the top spots.

First, of course, defending champion Belina Josselyn. She will participate in her 4th Grand Prix d’Amérique, after a convincing performance in the Grand Prix de Belgique, a race won in a new record time. Second in Bold Eagle in 2017, fourth in 2018, she won last year after an exceptional rush (review the race). On the sidelines part of the year to treat a metacarpal fracture, Belina Josselyn returned to the top in a timely manner.

His 2019 runner-upin, Looking Superb should also be there on Sunday, January 26. Passed from the status of total revelation last year, he who came to us from Norway with very few gains, to that of favorite logic for the podium of the Grand Prix d’Amérique, he notably won in the meantime the Prix de l’Atlantique in Enghien (Group I), during the spring. He has just met his new driver David Thomain, Alexandre Abrivard, his usual driver having chosen Excellent (trained by his father and owned by the Abrivard family).

Finally third asset, Davidson du Pont. He made a good impression in the 2019 Grand Prix d’Amérique where he took 4th place. Preserved then, he struck hard from the start this winter by winning the Grand Prix de Bretagne. Ready too early? Certainly not, it was precisely Jean-Michel Bazire and his team to manage with finesse his physical preparation for D-Day. His end of the race in the Grand Prix de Belgique was dazzling (see the replay) and the Tracking data only reinforced the visual impression. He will aim for victory.
