Thanks to a good entry at the front starting post and presented unshod after two races which allowed for him to gain in condition, Un Mec d’Héripré didn’t miss his goal by winning the second of the #opodoraces, the Prix du Bourbonnais, on Sunday 13th December at Vincennes. Immediately placed ahead of the field by driver Franck Nivard, Un Mec d’Héripré controlled the race to such a point that it wasn’t until the last 500 metres when the first attacks occured. The first, from Village Mystic, already noticed during the first round in the Prix de Bretagne. However, the raced resumed as a sprint, and it was difficult for him to catch up with the leader. The latter accelerated well to resist to Moses Rob who came on the outside to conclude faster than Village Mystic, thord on the wire. Vision Intense was fourth in front of Soléa Rivellière. The good note goes to Texas Charm who finished fast after starting with a 25-metre handicap. This year’s Prix d’Amérique Opodo winner Up And Quick raced discretely and his driver Jean-Michel Bazire announced some intensive training over the next few weeks.

To be noted, the American mare Delicious US was a non-runner at the last moment, victim of a limp.

Finally, the most interesting information comes from the Prix Octave Douesnel, also raced at Paris-Vincennes oN Sunday. The event was won by the excellent Bold Eagle, who was impressive indeed. At 4, the offspring of two-time Prix d’Amérique winner Ready Cash, is already a star ans is announced to be the horse to beat on January 31. His next goal is already known: the next round of the #opodoraces: the Critérium Continental on December 27.
