The Grand National du Trot ParisTurf Final will take center stage on Sunday 5 December at the Paris-Vincennes Hippodrome. This Group II will determine the winner of a competition that has taken place throughout the year at 14 provincial stages. The points awarded to the best in the Final are doubled, which makes the suspense mind-boggling. In the general classification, the leader Crack Money is in the lead with 71 points, just two more than Deganawidah. Bad Julry is third with 56 points. This trio of shock will be at the start on Sunday.
Another major stake: will Jean-Michel Bazire keep his grip on the Final and on the circuit? It accumulates records in several categories. As a coach, the formidable Sarthois has won the circuit 8 times and the Final 7 times. As a driver, the man with 20 Golden Sulkys has 7 victories in the circuit and in the Final. JMB will align two residents: Cleangame and Firello. He will lead the first city, winner of the competition in 2018 and the Final in 2019. Cleangame, real champion with 41 successes in 63 attempts, will however have the difficult task of returning 50 meters to his rivals alone.
The Group II, endowed with 130,000 euros, is also an objective in its own right for high quality horses. He could eventually lead to the Prix d’Amerique Races ZEturf competition. We are thinking in particular of talented competitors such as Goût Baroque, the aforementioned Firello, Fric du Chêne, Eros du Chêne and Express Jet. In the past, 8 winners of the Grand National du Trot ParisTurf Final were among the top five of the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race, namely Lurabo, Major de Brion, Poroto, Queila Gédé, Uno Atout, Cèdre du Vivier, Cygnus d’Odyssée and Voltigeur de Myrt. Lurabo and Queila Gédé even triumphed in the World Championship at Sulky.
