The most publicized trotting race on the planet will take place on Sunday January 30 at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes. The Prix d’Amérique Legend Race, the first of the three Finals of the Prix d’Amérique Races ZEturf competition, is the magical and exciting moment that everyone is impatiently waiting for. This world championship in the Sulky constitutes a supreme grail to conquer for any professional. 18 talented warriors will enter the arena to win the most prestigious trophy and offer a dantesque spectacle.
A notable absentee will haunt people during the 101st edition of the Prix d’Amérique Legend Race. Face Time Bourbon would indeed have endorsed the costume of the grandissime favorite, he who was looking to win a third world championship at the Sulky in a row. Unfortunately, he had to forfeit due to health concerns. His defection will nevertheless add a lot of suspense to the ordeal. Many protagonists can legitimately aspire to victory and the confrontation will be even more intense.
The team “Bazire”, Jean-Michel and Nicolas, will be the most represented. The Sarthois who won 20 Sulkys d’Or and his son will line up four major assets with Davidson du Pont, second last year and prepared by Nicolas, Feydeau Seven, winner of Qualif #6 - Prix de Belgique, Rebella Matters, remarkable in the qualifying races, and Zacon Gio, which has solid international references. “JMB” will be at the helm of Feydeau Seven.
Etonnant (our photo) should dispute the status of favorite with Davidson du Pont. Winner of the Prix de Paris-Marathon Race in February 2021, Richard Westerink’s protege won Qualif #2 – Prix du Bourbonnais ahead of Face Time Bourbon. He will have many supporters behind him. Galius, the poorest in the peloton but not the least talented, Flamme du Goutier, who will try to win the world championship at the Sulky after winning the one at the Etrier last Sunday, Hohneck, the youngest at the start who remains out of three victories in a row, and Gu d’Héripré, third in the previous edition, can all play a leading role.
Four protagonists trained outside France will challenge our tricolors: Power, Cokstile, Vitruvio and Vivid Wise As. Cokstile triumphed in a pleasant way in Qualif #5 – Prix de Bourgogne and looks like the most dangerous of visitors. The name of the new Sulky world champion will be known this Sunday, January 30 around 4:25 p.m.
