The Grand Prix de Bretagne, Sunday, the 18th of November at Vincennes Hippodrome de Paris, promises a magnificent sporting moment. 15 champions will compete in this Group II where the first three will be directly qualified for the Grand Prix d’Amérique, Sunday, the 27th of January.

1st association

Jean-Michel Bazire as coach will present two horses at the start of this Grand Prix de Bretagne: the triple winner of Group I Davidson du Pont (Prix de Sélection, Criterium des 5 Ans, Prix de l’Etoile) and the winner of the last Grand Prix de France Bélina Josselyn. He decided to put himself in the sulky of the first named and to entrust the 4th of the 2018 Grand Prix d’Amérique to Gabriele Gelormini. This is the first time that these two will be gathered in competition.

Multi-represented coaches

In addition to Jean-Michel Bazire, two other coaches present several horses from their team. Sébastien Guarato will be the most represented with three of his boarders in the running. Title holder Valko Jenilat, 2017 Criterium winner Carat Williams and of course the crack Bold Eagle (2016 and 2017 Grand Prix d’Amérique). Philippe Allaire, number 2 coaches in 2018, aligns two of his protégés: the returning Bird Parker who had made a superb winter meeting last year (Grand Prix du Bourbonnais, Grand Prix de Belgique and Grand Prix de Paris) and the triple winner of Groupe I Charly du Noyer.

The visitor

Considering Uza Josselyn as French, who is preparing in particular in Grosbois after several annual sequences in Switzerland, only one visitor is to be mentioned in the list of fifteen participants: Day Or Night In. A 6 year oldf trotter that we had discovered two winters ago when he took the 2nd place of the Critérium Continental. He has not stopped since to prove his ability to shine at Vincennes by finishing 2nd of the Prix Marcel Laurent 2017 and then winning the Prix Jean-René Gougeon on the day of the Grand Prix d’Amérique 2018. At home in Sweden he had a great season punctuated by four successes.
